Are the UFO sightings and case files on this site real?

Yes — every case file on Project Unredacted is based on documented events, declassified government files, historical records, and verified eyewitness accounts. We don't publish fiction. Each case includes cited sources and a verdict rating (Confirmed, Plausible, Uncertain, Doubtful, or Debunked) so you can evaluate the evidence yourself. Some cases like MKUltra and COINTELPRO are proven government programs backed by declassified documents, while others like Bigfoot sightings remain unverified.

What are the most convincing UFO cases with real evidence?

Our archive includes several UFO cases with strong evidence: the USS Nimitz Tic Tac Encounter (2004) with Pentagon-released FLIR video, the Tehran UFO Incident (1976) confirmed by military radar and multiple F-4 pilots, the Rendlesham Forest Incident (1980) documented by US Air Force personnel, and the Phoenix Lights (1997) witnessed by thousands including the state governor. Browse our Best UFO Cases page for the full ranked list based on evidence strength.

Have any conspiracy theories on this site been proven true?

Yes — 10 cases in our archive are rated 'Confirmed' with undeniable evidence. MKUltra (CIA mind control experiments on unwitting citizens, 1953-1973), COINTELPRO (FBI's illegal surveillance of civil rights leaders), the Tuskegee Syphilis Study (40-year government experiment on Black men), and Operation Paperclip (secret recruitment of Nazi scientists) are all verified through declassified documents and congressional hearings. Visit our Confirmed Cases page for the complete list.

What kind of evidence do you include in case files?

Each case file can include photographs, video footage, audio recordings, declassified government documents, radar data, forensic analysis, and eyewitness testimony. Our archive contains over 2,000 individual evidence items across 500+ cases. Evidence is sourced from FOIA releases, news archives, academic papers, military records, and verified eyewitness statements. We cite every source so you can verify the evidence independently.

How do you decide if a case is Confirmed, Plausible, or Debunked?

Our verdict system has five ratings: Confirmed (verified by official documents or undeniable evidence), Plausible (strong evidence but not conclusive), Uncertain (ambiguous or insufficient evidence), Doubtful (weak or contradictory evidence), and Debunked (disproven by investigation or exposed as fraud). Verdicts are based on source quality, corroboration across independent witnesses, physical evidence, and whether official agencies have acknowledged the events.

Is Project Unredacted free?

Yes — completely free. All 500+ case files, evidence galleries, eyewitness reports, and investigation findings are free to access on both the website and the iOS app. No subscription, no paywalls, no gated content. The app is a free download on the App Store with no in-app purchases required to access any case file.

What do I get in the iOS app that I can't get on the website?

The website and app have the same case files, but the app adds full-resolution evidence galleries with zoom and swipe, an interactive map showing all sighting locations, an audio player for recovered recordings and eyewitness audio, push notifications when new cases are published weekly, and offline reading. The app is free on iPhone and iPad running iOS 15 or later.

How many case files does Project Unredacted have?

The archive currently contains over 500 case files across seven categories: UFO Encounters, Cryptid Sightings, Government Programs, Unsolved Mysteries, Paranormal Activity, Conspiracy Cases, and Historical Enigmas. New cases are added weekly. Cases span from 9500 BCE (Göbekli Tepe) to present-day incidents, covering events in over 50 countries.

What cryptids and creatures are in your case files?

Our cryptid archive includes Bigfoot (Patterson-Gimlin Film), the Loch Ness Monster, Mothman of Point Pleasant, the Jersey Devil, Chupacabra, the Dover Demon, Lake Champlain Monster (Champ), Ogopogo, the Flatwoods Monster, Michigan Dogman, the Beast of Bray Road, Fresno Nightcrawlers, and many more. Each case includes sighting history, physical evidence, and eyewitness accounts.

Can I submit a UFO sighting or paranormal case for investigation?

Yes — we actively investigate new cases. If you have documentation of an unexplained phenomenon, UFO sighting, cryptid encounter, or evidence of a government cover-up, email us at projectunredactedapp@protonmail.com with as much detail and documentation as possible. Include dates, locations, photographs or video if available, and any official reports or documentation. We review every submission.
